About The Position
This Construction Client Accountant role supports multiple construction clients’ day-to-day operations, including payroll, reconciliations, billing, audit support, and construction accounting work within Sage 100 Contractor. This is a full-time W-2 role and not a software implementation, ERP consulting, or configuration position.
Requirements
- Strong construction accounting experience
- Hands-on payroll experience, including payroll taxes and filings
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and month-end close
- Hands-on accounting experience with direct responsibility for completing the work, not solely reviewing or overseeing others
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities independently
- Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through
- Comfort working in a high-autonomy environment
- Ability to step into an existing client environment and contribute with minimal ramp-up
- U.S. work authorization required. No sponsorship available
Nice To Haves
- Sage 100 Contractor experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working across multiple construction companies or clients
- Sage 100 Contractor experience
- Union payroll experience
- Experience supporting audits or year-end accounting needs
- Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accountants
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of construction clients
- Personally process payroll, including payroll taxes and filings
- Perform bank reconciliations, sales tax filings, month-end close, billing support, and routine audit/year-end support
- Support job costing, WIP, progress billing, AP/AR, and related construction accounting needs
- Support clients with ongoing accounting needs and day-to-day Sage 100 Contractor accounting workflows
- Maintain accurate records and a clean audit trail across all client work
- Identify and resolve issues independently when possible
- Communicate clearly with clients and follow through on commitments
