About The Position

JLL is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Construction Assistant Project Manager to join a national account team managing construction projects in Poughkeepsie. This on-site position requires leading cross-functional teams of design professionals, general contractors, and specialty contractors while managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet or exceed goals for speed to market, quality, and budget. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in all aspects of design and construction
  • Industrial or commercial construction project management experience
  • Proven track record of acting decisively and managing time effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Experience developing Risk Registers and implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Strong financial acumen including experience with cost reporting, invoice management, and project closeout procedures
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED AP
  • Experience working on projects within manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other advanced construction technologies

Responsibilities

  • Oversee entire project flow from implementation through close out and handover, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget
  • Prepare RFPs, manage vendor and contractor selection, negotiate contracts, and interface with architects, client staff, property managers, and vendors
  • Collaborate across all platforms including transaction managers, facilities managers, building engineers, occupancy planners, and move managers
  • Organize and chair project meetings, distribute minutes and follow-up action items, and coordinate development activities
  • Travel to job sites as needed to ensure project performance criteria are being met (up to 80% travel within the region)
  • Develop and maintain Master Project Schedules, set milestones, and create Critical Path schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Develop project budgets, monitor construction costs, create cost-saving opportunities, and track financials as liaison between client, finance team, and vendors
  • Manage change orders, develop Risk Registers, and use best practices to eliminate scope creep
  • Champion safety by ensuring JLL guidelines are followed and projects comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements
