About The Position

The Construction Analyst supports the department's financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions across the organization's capital construction program. This position is responsible for analyzing project budgets, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. The Construction Analyst works closely with project managers, department leadership, Finance, and other stakeholders to improve financial accuracy, maintain consistent cost controls, and provide reliable information that supports capital planning and management decision-making. This role will act as administrator to the construction software, ProCore. Additionally, this role will also provide oversight on the Contract Administrator (CCA) role, leading the coordination efforts with UH's legal team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics (Required)
  • 1+ years Analyst - Construction or Finance (Required)
  • Ability to multi-task. (Required proficiency)

  • Good understanding of GAAP, general ledger, health care cost accounting, and budget process. (Required proficiency)
  • Must possess analytical and problem solving skills. (Required proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, commitments, expenditures, cash flow, contingency, and available funding for the organization's capital construction program.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and analyses that communicate project and program performance to department leadership, project managers, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Analyze budget variances, cost trends, forecast changes, contingency usage, and financial risks, and provide timely information and recommendations to support management decision-making.
  • Partner with project managers to maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts, anticipated final costs, expenditure schedules, commitments, and project cash-flow projections.
  • Reconcile project financial data across Procore, accounting, procurement, and other organizational systems to ensure accurate, consistent, and complete financial reporting.
  • Administer the department’s contract process by coordinating with project managers, Procurement, Legal, vendors, and other stakeholders to prepare, route, review, approve, execute, and distribute contracts and amendments.
  • Maintain contract logs, execution status, supporting documentation, approval records, renewal and expiration dates, and completed agreements to ensure contracts are timely, accurate, properly authorized, and readily accessible.
  • Serve as the department’s Procore administrator, including system configuration, user access, permissions, workflows, templates, reporting, data standards, and coordination of system updates and enhancements.
  • Provide Procore support and training to department staff and project stakeholders, troubleshoot system issues, and promote consistent use of established processes and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain standardized financial controls, contract administration procedures, Procore workflows, reporting tools, templates, and documentation, while identifying opportunities to improve departmental processes, data quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
