About The Position

Flad, a national architectural firm, is seeking an on-site Construction Administrator to work at the UC-Berkeley job site or in the Flad San Francisco office. This position requires collaboration with a project team and offers the opportunity to solve complex challenges. The role is expected to continue through March 2029.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of Construction Administration experience working on large-scale commercial projects (utilizing concrete, steel, etc.) required
• Skilled at collaboration, attention to detail, and communication
• Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
• Experience in web-based project management programs required
• Degree in architecture, construction, or related field required

Nice To Haves

• Ten years of Construction Administration experience preferred
• Understanding of the principles of sustainable design
• Prior experience with LEED or Green Globes rating systems is preferred
• Sustainability accreditation preferred
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in the United States preferred

Responsibilities

• On-site observations of facilities
• General project and contract administration
• Processing payment requests
• Approving changes
• Providing prompt service regarding interpretations, decisions, and construction bulletins
• Reviewing and evaluating RFIs and submittals
• Bringing questions or concerns to the attention of design team members for resolution
• Monitoring construction changes, shop drawings, and other contractor submissions
• Reviewing shop drawings
• Rejecting work that does not conform to construction documents and recording issues with a corrective action report or non-conforming work notice
• Coordinating outside consultants as required
• Facilitating timely communication between the owner, contractor, project manager, and other relevant team members
• Advising Flad team members of services needed during construction
