About The Position

LAUSD's Project Execution group delivers the District's school construction projects. As Constructability Review Specialist, you support the Design Manager and the Owner Authorized Representative during design and preconstruction, reviewing each project's scope, schedule, and construction documents before they go to bid. You help define and review the scope of work and schedule in the Project Requirement Document, including interim housing requirements. Early in design you recommend value engineering, meaning changes that lower cost without reducing what the building is required to do. As the drawings progress, you review the design team's documents for inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions, with the goal of reducing contractor requests for information and change orders during construction. You make sure the documents are coordinated across the design disciplines and you prepare a comprehensive constructability review of the pre-bid construction documents, working collaboratively with the Design Manager and the Owner Authorized Representative.
