About The Position

Struction Solutions is seeking an experienced Constructability Review Specialist – General to support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during the preconstruction phase of capital improvement and construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing project designs for constructability, coordination, completeness, and quality to help minimize Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, delays, and construction-related issues. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction administration, project management, or construction supervision on large public, educational, or commercial construction projects.

Requirements

  • Option 1 – Architecture & Construction Administration Experience: Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Minimum of 15 years of full-time paid professional experience, including: At least 10 years serving as a Construction Administrator. At least 5 years serving as a Designer. Construction Administrator experience must include public or educational facility construction projects with full project support responsibilities. Experience on projects valued at: $8 million or greater for a single project; or Combined cumulative project value of $80 million or greater.
  • Option 2 – Construction Management Experience: Minimum of 15 years of full-time paid professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager. Experience managing public, educational, and/or large commercial construction projects. Full responsibility for coordinating complex construction projects. Experience on projects valued at: More than $30 million for a single project; and Combined cumulative project value of $400 million or greater.
  • Two years of college-level coursework from an accredited college, university, or trade school may be combined with five additional years of qualifying experience in lieu of the stated educational requirement.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and confidently in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction administration processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing: Requests for Clarification (RFCs), Submittals, Change Orders
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and design coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, Other standard construction management software applications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining and reviewing Project Requirement Documents, including scope of work, project schedules, and interim housing requirements.
  • Provide value engineering recommendations during the early stages of design development.
  • Review design professional deliverables and identify inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions to improve document quality and reduce RFIs and change orders.
  • Ensure construction documents are properly coordinated across all design disciplines.
  • Prepare comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative throughout the review process.
  • Support project teams in identifying potential construction risks and recommending practical solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
