About The Position

The Consignment Specialist gathers comprehensive clinical and non-clinical information from consignment locations and/or electronic medical records to meet regulatory standards for completing consignment intake orders. The role completes documentation for intake and billing and replenishes consignment products.

The specialist processes customer consignment orders for billing, maintains TeleMed orders, handles tote program replenishment orders, and processes facility rental equipment orders. The position helps ensure accurate billing and reimbursement, appropriate product replenishment, and access to supplies and equipment for patients and clinical teams.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Two years of experience in a healthcare-related field.
• Ability to move freely, including standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling, and to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather clinical and non-clinical information from referral sources and/or patients or families to ensure complete orders and claims.
• Verify and generate documentation and follow up on patient information to support accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Analyze insurance guidelines, reimbursement criteria, HCPC and ICD-9/10 coding, provider directories, regulations, and manuals for accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Process replenished products for consignment locations to support patient access.
• Create and process customer consignment orders for billing through the electronic medical billing system.
• Create and maintain TeleMed orders for home care team members and their patients.
• Process tote program replenishment orders to provide supplies for clinical home visits.
• Process facility rental equipment orders to ensure facilities have appropriate equipment for patients.
