The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking Conservation/Historic Preservation Workers (CW’s) for temporary seasonal positions not exceeding six months, to work at various locations throughout Illinois, including Rend Lake State Fish & Wildlife Management Area. Under immediate supervision, CW’s will perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties for site buildings and public use areas, which includes groundskeeping, cleaning facilities like shelters, shower houses, and privies, and trash removal. They will also operate and maintain equipment and vehicles, such as hand tools and trucks, performing tasks like changing oil, fluids, filters, spark plugs, and belts. Additionally, CW’s will assist in habitat management and various hunting programs. Some positions may also involve site interpretation. The IDNR is committed to preserving, protecting, and promoting Illinois' natural and cultural resources, overseeing a wide range of assets from wildlife and wetlands to parks and historic sites.
