The primary focus of this role is to provide comprehensive training, guidance, and communication to help districts meet state and federal expectations.

Requirements

  • One year as a Conservation District Field Representative 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in the application of soil and water conservation practices and such training as may have been gained through a Bachelor's Degree with major course work in soil and water conservation or one of the related disciplines; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to help districts meet obligations and strengthen conservation programs
  • Develop and deliver training for directors, managers, and staff on conservation procedures and programs
  • Monitor programs, review goals, and assist districts with planning, budgeting, and compliance
  • Serve as the main communication link between the department, Conservation Districts, and the State Conservation Commission
  • Assist district and department staff with issues involving erosion control, nutrient management, and stream or wetland concerns
  • Participate in district evaluations and support improvements to enhance program effectiveness
