About The Position

ELYSIS is seeking an early-career Mechanical Engineering Advisor for a one-year contract, with a possibility of extension. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in the industrialization of production equipment, transitioning from R&D to high-volume manufacturing. The position involves working on unique electrode production equipment, supported by experienced engineers. Responsibilities include technical analysis, specification development, technical recommendations, field support for equipment commissioning and ramp-up, and supplier sourcing. The role is based in Montreal and offers a hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automated Manufacturing Engineering
  • Registered with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as an Engineer-in-Training (CPI)
  • 0 to 3 years of experience
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including international contacts
  • Proven ability to prepare technical reports and documentation
  • Project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on a production floor, production support, and/or maintenance
  • Experience in machine design and commissioning
  • Experience in an industrial environment
  • Basic Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Documentation (assembly and manufacturing drawings, general arrangement and detailed drawings, mechanical schematics, isometric drawings, plant integration documents, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), process Flow Diagrams (PFD))

Responsibilities

  • Be a proactive contributor to the management of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) aspects
  • Participate in risk assessment activities required in preparation for field visits
  • Identify issues observed during field visits
  • Recommend improvement opportunities to address identified issues
  • Lead technical documentation efforts
  • Create technical specifications
  • Analyze equipment, process, and material data
  • Develop technical recommendations
  • Create project charters and ensure their follow-up
  • Develop test protocols, execute tests, analyze results, and prepare recommendations
  • Analyze operational cycle times
  • Conduct technology and scientific monitoring
  • Research suppliers to support technological requirements
  • Provide technical support to engineers during equipment commissioning activities
  • Provide technical support during project execution phases
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies and project management practices
  • Perform any other related duties
