About The Position
The Home for Little Wanderers' Southeast Campus, located in Plymouth, MA, is seeking Full-Time Overnight Residential Counselors to support youth who have experienced trauma and/or have significant emotional and behavioral challenges in a residential setting. The campus provides a unique recovery environment with evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. New employees receive comprehensive training in behavior support, crisis management, trauma informed care, and social services best practices. The role emphasizes building positive relationships and a child-centered, team approach to care, encouraging staff to develop new ideas for activities and routines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of kids
Nice To Haves
- 1 year prior experience working with youth preferred
Responsibilities
- Passing the CORI/background check and having a valid ID
- Being physically active for an 8-10 hour shift
- Participating in verbal de-escalation and physical intervention with youth
- Multi-tasking in a changing and fast-paced treatment environment
- Receiving and implement feedback in the moment and through a structured supervision process
- Ability to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required
