This position requires precision spray application, proper chemical handling, and strict adherence to engineering drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards. The Sprayer plays a key role in ensuring finished assemblies meet all quality, coverage, and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in conformal coating, spray application, or electronics manufacturing (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Knowledge of conformal coating materials (acrylic, silicone, urethane, etc.) and application methods.
  • Experience with both manual (handheld) and automated/selective coating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Understanding of chemical safety practices, including PPE use and SDS requirements.
  • Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle small, delicate components and operate conformal coating spray equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions throughout the shift
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect coated components for quality, coverage, and defects
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, chemical-resistant gloves, and respirator when working with coatings and solvent.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and load the correct conformal coating material for each job per work order and engineering documentation.
  • Mix chemicals, coatings, and thinners according to required specifications, mix ratios, pot-life requirements, and chemical safety procedures.
  • Set up and operate spray equipment, including verifying spray patterns, pressures, and machine parameters prior to production runs.
  • Perform the full scope of the Parylene coating process, including part preparation, masking, chamber loading, deposition, and de-masking.
  • Operate several different types of dispensing and coating machines to meet customer specifications.
  • Apply an even, consistent coating to PCBs, ensuring proper coverage of required areas and complete masking/keep-out of prohibited areas.
  • Inspect coated boards for proper coverage, thickness, and defects (bubbles, runs, cracking, de-wetting, overspray) using visual and UV/black light inspection per IPC-A-610 requirements.
  • Perform touch-up and rework of coating defects as required.
  • Clean and maintain spray, coating, and dispensing equipment to ensure proper operating condition, including changing fluids, cleaning machines, performing routine preventive maintenance, and reporting equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping for machine maintenance purposes.
  • Follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and all chemical safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, SDS review, and hazardous material handling and disposal procedures.
  • Complete accurate production records, including material lot numbers, mix times, and inspection results.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain work area in compliance with 5S, ESD, FOD, and safety procedures to provide a safe and clean working environment at all times.
