The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, good hand skills, the ability to follow work instructions, and experience working with electronic assemblies in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing, PCBA assembly, conformal coating, masking, inspection, or related production work preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, assembly drawings, travelers, and customer specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive precision work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work with small components and detailed masking requirements.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in an ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures for chemicals, solvents, coatings, and curing equipment.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with acrylic, silicone, urethane, epoxy, or UV-cure conformal coatings.
  • Experience with manual spray coating, brush coating, selective coating machines, or UV inspection.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-CC-830 requirements.
  • Experience using microscopes, black lights, or inspection aids.
  • Experience in aerospace, medical, defense, automotive, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
  • Prior soldering, rework, masking, staking, underfill, or mechanical assembly experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare printed circuit board assemblies for conformal coating, including cleaning, handling, masking, and verification of coating requirements.
  • Apply conformal coating using manual spray, brush, dip, selective coating equipment, or other approved methods.
  • Mask and demask connectors, test points, keep-out areas, hardware, labels, and other restricted areas according to work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Operate curing equipment, ovens, UV cure systems, or drying processes as required.
  • Inspect coated assemblies for coverage, bubbles, voids, pooling, contamination, runs, overspray, lifting, peeling, and other defects.
  • Perform touch-up, rework, and repair of conformal coating as needed.
  • Verify material type, shelf life, pot life, mix ratios, lot numbers, and expiration dates before use.
  • Accurately complete production travelers, inspection records, material logs, and other required documentation.
  • Follow ESD procedures, safety requirements, chemical handling procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Communicate quality, process, material, or equipment issues to the lead, supervisor, or engineering team.
  • Support production schedules by meeting quality and output expectations.
  • Follow IPC workmanship standards, customer specifications, and internal process procedures.
  • Assist with process improvements, training, and cross-functional production support as needed.
