About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a confidential, nationally respected law firm to identify a Conflicts Research Analyst for its Columbus, Ohio office. This position is integral to protecting the firms ethical standing and supporting attorneys in evaluating potential conflicts of interest related to new clients, new matters, and lateral hires. This is a role for a detail-driven professional who understands the importance of precision, confidentiality, and sound judgment within a law firm environment. Candidates must demonstrate stability in prior employment and direct conflicts experience within a mid-to-large law firm setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year of direct conflicts experience in a mid-to-large law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree or clearly equivalent professional experience within a law firm.
  • Working knowledge of legal ethics rules and professional responsibility standards.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting formal conflicts searches and corporate research.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex findings.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflows with accuracy.
  • Authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship now or in the future).
  • Ability to work onsite/hybrid in Columbus, OH.
  • Demonstrated employment stability (no pattern of short-term tenures).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Intapp or comparable conflicts management systems.
  • Experience drafting engagement letters, waivers, or ethical screen documentation.
  • Exposure to lateral attorney conflicts reviews.
  • Prior involvement in large-scale database cleanup or data integrity projects.
  • Strong analytical reporting and documentation skills.
  • Experience in multi-office or national law firm environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive conflicts searches related to new client intake, new matters, and attorney lateral hires.
  • Develop and refine strategic search methodologies to ensure complete and accurate results.
  • Interpret search findings and identify potential conflicts under applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Prepare clear, concise written summaries and risk assessments for review by Conflicts Counsel and firm leadership.
  • Perform in-depth corporate research using public records and subscription-based databases to determine affiliations, parent/subsidiary structures, and beneficial ownership.
  • Identify indirect relationships that may create actual or potential conflicts.
  • Analyze complex entity structures and summarize findings in a digestible format.
  • Draft engagement letters, conflict waivers, and ethical screen memoranda under supervision.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating conflicts database records to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Support firmwide database cleanup and reconciliation initiatives.
  • Work closely with Conflicts Counsel, General Counsel, attorneys, and administrative teams to resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Respond to time-sensitive requests while maintaining accuracy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
