About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering confidentially with a nationally recognized law firm seeking a skilled Conflicts Research Analyst to support its Indianapolis office. This role sits at the intersection of legal ethics, compliance, and matter intake, ensuring that new representations and attorney hires align with professional responsibility standards and firm policies. The ideal candidate brings hands-on law firm conflicts experience, strong analytical reasoning, and a stable employment history. This is a high-visibility role that requires precision, discretion, and the ability to interpret complex client relationships and corporate structures. Candidates with inconsistent tenure or frequent short-term roles will not be considered.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of conflicts research experience in a mid-to-large law firm environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or clearly demonstrated equivalent legal industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of professional responsibility rules and conflict-of-interest standards.
  • Direct experience performing conflict searches and conducting corporate research.
  • Strong analytical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (now or in the future).
  • Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis under a hybrid schedule.
  • Demonstrated employment stability with consistent tenure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Intapp or comparable conflicts management software.
  • Prior involvement in lateral attorney conflict reviews.
  • Experience drafting engagement letters or conflict waivers.
  • Exposure to large-scale client/matter data reconciliation projects.
  • Experience supporting Am Law or nationally ranked firms.
  • Advanced legal research and analytical reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive conflict-of-interest searches for new clients, matters, and lateral hires.
  • Develop effective search strategies using the firms' conflicts management platform.
  • Evaluate and synthesize findings into clear, concise summaries highlighting potential ethical risks.
  • Escalate nuanced or complex issues to Conflicts Counsel with well-supported analysis.
  • Investigate corporate hierarchies, subsidiaries, ownership structures, and affiliated entities.
  • Utilize trusted research databases to uncover relationships relevant to potential conflicts.
  • Interpret findings within the framework of professional responsibility guidelines.
  • Prepare draft engagement documentation, waivers, and ethical screen memoranda as needed.
  • Assist in implementing and documenting ethical screens.
  • Maintain thorough internal documentation to ensure defensible compliance practices.
  • Review and reconcile client and matter records to maintain system accuracy.
  • Support cleanup initiatives within the conflicts database.
  • Contribute to improvements in intake and research workflows.
  • Partner with attorneys, administrative staff, and compliance leadership to resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Provide responsive support in time-sensitive scenarios.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive client information.
