About The Position

The CM/Records Manager is responsible for overseeing the configuration management and records management processes within the program. This role ensures the integrity, availability, and security of configuration items and records, compliance with relevant regulations, and the efficient management of the organization's information assets. The CM/Records Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to implement and maintain effective configuration and records management practices.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in related field, additional four years of direct experience may replace education requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management and/or records management, preferably within a similar industry, with a focus on hardware systems.
  • Secret security clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management and records management principles and practices, with a focus on hardware systems.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools and records management systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Configuration Manager (CCM), Certified Records Manager (CRM)) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for managing hardware configurations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement configuration and records management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and records management system to track configuration items (CIs) and records throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of CIs (including baselines, versions, and relationships) and classification of records.
  • Coordinate change management processes to control modifications to CIs.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with configuration and record management practices.
  • Facilitate the disposition of records in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to configuration and records management.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to management in a timely manner.
  • Manage the configuration and records of hardware systems, ensuring they are accurately documented, tracked, and maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to integrate hardware systems into the configuration management process.
  • Ensure that hardware assets are properly inventoried, classified, and dispositioned in compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
