About The Position

Seamless Migration is seeking a career and customer oriented Configuration Management Analyst to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This role serves as an experienced and highly motivated SIAM (Service Integration and Management) – Configuration Management Analyst supporting the planning, design, and implementation of configuration management plans and standards. The analyst will assist with the management and maintenance of the CMDB, periodic verification and audit of CIs, and defining common naming conventions and tagging standards for assets and CIs in collaboration with asset management. Key responsibilities include ensuring the mapping of services from the business services level, timely updates to CI information, and accurate CI relationship mapping. The role also involves providing input for technology requirements impacting configuration management, utilizing ServiceNow dashboards for reporting, and supporting measurement and reporting for meetings. Additionally, the analyst will assist with research and evaluation for IT process improvements (CSI), support quality assessments for process implementation, and participate in requirements-gathering sessions. The position requires a self-starter who can manage end-to-end efforts independently and within a team, delivering high-quality work and adapting to new challenges.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI W/ CI Poly (existing clearance required to start)
  • Three or more years of service process experience in an ITSM environment.
  • Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of three years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in and understanding of ITIL framework concepts and practices.
  • Working knowledge of service management workflows and ITSM processes.
  • Relevant experience as an ITSM Configuration Management Analyst in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Good written and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the planning, design, and implementation of configuration management plans and standards.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of the CMDB.
  • Assists in the periodic verification and audit of CIs.
  • Assists asset management in defining a common naming convention and tagging standard for both assets and CIs.
  • Ensures mapping of services (logical service model) from the level of business services.
  • Ensures timely updates to CI information.
  • Ensures CI relationship mapping is accurate and evaluated often.
  • Provides input for technology requirements relating to or impacting configuration management.
  • Utilizes ServiceNow dashboards, tools, and techniques to report the status of the CMDB and CIs as needed.
  • Supports measurement and reporting for weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Assists with research, evaluation, and assessment leading to the development of recommendations for process improvements, optimization, and/or development efforts for IT processes (CSI).
  • Supports evaluations and quality assessments for proper implementation of processes to meet quality standards.
  • Supports and participates in TEMs and other requirements-gathering work sessions.
  • Performs as a self-starter who manages end-to-end efforts independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Delivers high-quality work and adapts to new challenges, either independently or as part of a team.
