The role involves assisting with reviewing program-unique specifications (system, development, and product for hardware and software) for format, content, and compliance with program requirements and standards. It includes processing requests for nomenclature and Computer Program Identification Numbers (CPINs), and tracking these requests through government agencies. The position supports the configuration control function, handling receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and disposition of various change documents like ACSNs, ECPs, CCPs, RFDs/RFWs, DRs, airworthiness directive notes, and service introductions. It also involves reviewing change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and data management impacts, and compliance with government requirements, making recommendations for disposition, and assisting in the preparation and conduct of CCB and business management boards. The role assists in maintaining change proposal files and providing historical information, as well as preparing and submitting product data or performing other configuration management activities, including support for CCB Charter development and administration. Planning/implementing FCAs and PCAs and confirming data adequacy for these audits is also part of the role. Additionally, it involves reviewing and evaluating OEM proposals and reports for configuration status accounting and compliance with technical data requirements, and maintaining configuration status accounting databases and records. The position supports data users and requesters with selecting and tailoring DIDs, preparing DIDs, and filling out data management forms. It provides support and expertise for organizing and issuing data calls, including drafting data call letters. Understanding of distribution statements and FAR/DFARS data rights clauses, evaluating change proposals for data impacts, monitoring delivery and approval of contract technical data, and record maintenance in AF GRITS are essential. Assistance in data reviews includes integrating inputs, preparing documentation, participating in reviews, drafting data, reviewing minutes, and tracking action items. The role also assists in preparing and maintaining CDRLs for RFPs, contracts, and modifications. Support for the DR function includes operating JDRS or similar systems, assisting with receiving, processing, and tracking DRs, maintaining files and databases, providing disposition instructions, and assisting in planning and conducting MIP Review Board meetings. Engineering data management support is provided, including preparing/updating data management plans, maintaining activity files, and providing technical support for conferences and drawing reviews. Finally, the role provides configuration/data management-related research, analyses, studies, documentation, and briefing assistance to support mission partner activities, applying knowledge of configuration management fundamentals and the deficiency reporting process to maintain consistency of a product's attributes throughout its life.
