Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, or other related field.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor

  • Time management skills to support multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining procedures for requesting configuration changes.
  • Monitoring configuration changes and measuring results including reduction in time to build, program cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Assisting with establishing and maintaining procedure for requesting configuration changes.
  • Conferring with functional areas to fully understand and evaluate configuration change requests.
  • Analyzing proposed design changes and exhibits to prepare report of effect on overall product for management action. Analysis to include/impact upon customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Reviewing proposed changes and coordinating with Finance to determine program cost impact of proposed change.
  • Prioritizing change requests to achieve program operating metrics.
  • Tracking and reporting on impact of approved configuration changes on overall program performance.
  • Making recommendations to program management regarding cost saving and profitability improvement opportunities.
  • Interfacing with ISC configuration management team to incorporate appropriate changes.
