About The Position

The Conference Support Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening the work of SVdP- Alameda County Conferences by supporting Vincentians, volunteers, co-workers and guests. Facilitating communication, and assisting with administrative, spiritual, and operational needs. This position is focused on empowering local Conferences to better serve their communities in alignment with the mission and values of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul- Alameda County. This position works closely with our Spirituality, Formation & Growth Committee (SFG). Much of the work will involve working with Vincentians, Committee members, volunteers and co-workers to assist with formation work with our Conferences. This includes helping to start or restart Conferences, attending Conference and Vincentian activities and supporting our ministry and charism.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone and email communications to link clients with Conferences in Alameda County and/or other Alameda County service providers.
• Connects incoming calls to appropriate departments.
• Supports the Community Engagement/Development team by performing other administrative tasks and clerical responsibilities.
• Works with agencies that refer clients to make sure they understand our role: 211, EBMUD, etc.
• Links people interested in becoming Vincentians with appropriate committees and Conferences.
• Assists Food Locker Coordinator with requests by Conferences for food.
• Coordinates all Conference communications and logistics regarding Council activities.
• Promotes and assists all Conferences to utilize their church bulletins, pulpit talks, printed materials, and other means to increase Vincentian recruitment efforts, maximize revenue from their Parish SVdP collections and to encourage support for SVdP among all parishioners.
• Work closely with the Spirituality & Formation Coordinator to provide clear communication to the Conferences.
