Haw River State Park is seeking a Conference Center Manager to lead daily operations at The Summit, a full‑service conference facility with onsite lodging and dining. In this role, you’ll guide every aspect of business and visitor experience—from accommodations and event coordination to marketing, sales, and financial management—while ensuring The Summit thrives as a premier destination for meetings and retreats in North Carolina’s state parks system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience related to the area of assignment; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality or conference center management
  • Experience with property management or event registration software.
  • Experience overseeing kitchen operations
  • Certified Hospitality Supervisor® certification

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations and management of The Summit, including kitchen services and overnight lodging.
  • Manage all aspects of business and visitor experience, including accommodations, event coordination, marketing, sales, and financial management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while addressing complaints, inquiries, and conflicts promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all events at The Summit run smoothly and meet quality standards.
  • Assist with managing the conference center budget and ensure the facility’s overall financial success.
  • Oversee procurement activities and identify maintenance, facility, and health and safety needs.
  • Coordinate and support service teams to ensure alignment with goals and mission.
  • Supervise three direct reports, five total permanent staff, and various seasonal and temporary employees involved in operating The Summit.
