About The Position

Terminal Switching Services is looking for a Conductor to join their team at the Union Pacific Dallas, TX Terminal. This is a full-time, permanent position in an essential industry. Requirements

A valid driver's license.
Advanced knowledge of the railroad industry from vocational education, apprenticeship, on-the-job training, or similar experience.
Ability to pass a vision and hearing test.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals.

Responsibilities

Assisting the Train Engineer with the safe and efficient movement of rail equipment (locomotives, rail cars, tracks, etc.) within the rail yard.
Maintaining an efficient and orderly rail yard by moving rail cars and freeing rail tracks for incoming rail traffic.
Managing rail track switches to direct rail cars to appropriate tracks.
Connecting and disconnecting rail air hoses as needed to consolidate rail cars efficiently.
Leading job briefings with Supervisors and crew prior to work.
Ensuring compliance with HAZMAT and OSHA Regulations, including immediate reporting of any incidents.
Wearing required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as safety vest, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toe boots.
Maintaining clear communication with the Train Engineer/Operator and other crew members using verbal, hand, or radio signals while moving locomotives.
Participating in daily safety briefings.
Inspecting all rail equipment for damage and notifying the operator and supervisor immediately if any is found.
Handling all rail equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintaining awareness and organization within the rail yard, including attention to ground surface conditions (potholes, debris, slippery conditions).
