About The Position

In this role, you will monitor and organize planning, safety, quality, and technical activities for Direct Hire union concrete and civil crafts with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control. Familiar with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in piping operations; to ensure adequate coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Experience managing union craft
  • Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" safety program.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and optimization of craft labor and maintaining the overall construction schedule, the 90 day and 4 week look ahead schedules for labor and equipment
  • Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
  • Coordinate safety training in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
  • Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy.
  • Ensure that Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Monitor the activities of craft to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
  • Review craft time records using established automated tools.
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
