About The Position

Michels Construction, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Superintendent, Heavy Civil to join their team. This role supports field operations by coordinating schedules and resources, communicating scope to Foremen, and ensuring safety processes like JSAs and inspections are completed. The company works on a variety of heavy civil projects including wharfs and ports, dams, water resiliency, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, bridges, and railways across North America. Requirements

• 7+ years of related experience in construction, preferably in the heavy civil or water/wastewater fields.
• Experience with structural concrete construction and subcontract management.
• Experience with Heavy Civil project is required.
• Comprehensive ability to read construction drawings and specifications, means and methods, and wall and floor finish requirements.
• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.
• Ability to travel and commit to long term onsite projects, which may require travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules and resources for field operations.
• Communicate scope to Foremen.
• Ensure safety processes like JSAs and inspections are completed.
• Attend client meetings.
• Manage materials and tooling needs.
• Verify daily QA/QC and as-built documentation.
• Review time and field reports.
• Work closely with the Project Manager.
• Develop Foremen and trade staff.
• Contribute to efficient, safe, and consistent project execution.
