About The Position

This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of all maintenance activities for a concrete ready-mix plant. The Mechanic will ensure the reliability and quality of all plant equipment through proactive maintenance, efficient repairs, and effective management of resources and staff. Key areas of focus include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory control, safety compliance, budget management, and continuous improvement of maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and implementing maintenance plans for industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in overseeing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in inventory management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Ability to supervise and train maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in a plant environment.
• Experience in managing maintenance budgets.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Experience in vendor management and negotiation.
• A commitment to continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans for the plant's equipment, including machinery, conveyors, batch plants, and other infrastructure.
• Oversee and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
• Address equipment failures, diagnose issues, and coordinate repairs, either directly or through a team of mechanics.
• Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Supervise maintenance staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations, and that equipment is maintained to the highest quality standards.
• Manage the maintenance budget effectively, ensuring cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with plant management, production staff, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment failures, and repairs.
• Develop relationships with maintenance vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery of parts and supplies.
• Identify areas for improvement in maintenance practices and procedures to optimize equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
