Concrete Quality Field Technician

About The Position

This role involves visiting job sites, attending pre-pour meetings, and interacting with customers to promote value-added products while gathering market and job information. The technician will perform ACI & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing, record test data, and apply statistical quality control procedures. Responsibilities include evaluating data, writing reports, and generating graphs and charts to validate or indicate deviations from standards. The position also entails evaluating and recommending modifications to existing quality or production standards and procedures, and leading their implementation. Additionally, the technician will advise upper management on product development issues identified through customer technical support, conduct audits, and make improvements to the Quality Performance System. Completing all required paperwork, coordinating trucks/drivers at job sites, and communicating with Plant Managers and Drivers are also key duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 100 pounds
  • Ability to push loaded wheelbarrow; approximately 200-300 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ready mix truck ladders multiple times per day
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
  • Well-developed project management skills
  • Must multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little supervision
  • Willingness to advance through additional training
  • Good attendance record

Responsibilities

  • Visits job sites, attends pre-pour meetings, and calls on customers promoting value-added products, collecting market and job information.
  • Performs ongoing ACI & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data, writes reports and generates graphs and charts to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Evaluates existing quality or productions standards and procedures, recommends modifications, and leads their implementation.
  • Advises upper management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through technical support calls with customers.
  • Conducts audits and makes ongoing improvements to the Quality Performance System.
  • Completes all required paperwork (reports, forms, letters, etc.).
  • Helps coordinate and route trucks/ drivers at various jobsites when needed.
  • Communicates with Plant Managers and Drivers.
