S&W Ready Mix has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician serving our Lumberton, NC region. Must be willing to travel throughout the S&W operating areas. The primary function of this role is to ensure high quality ready-mix products, provide industry related technical assessments, promote concrete sales and products, sustain and build customer relationships and respond to market trends.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year experience in Ready Mix Concrete, construction, quality control, or related industry
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be computer literate in Windows, Excel, Adobe, Power Point and MS Office.
  • Excellent data entry skills and ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills along with a customer focused philosophy.
  • Must be able to build successful relationships, treat and relate to others in open, respectful ways, even in difficult or challenging circumstances.
  • Pro-active team orientated attitude, collaborative working style, self-motivated and results driven with commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical, and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • DOT Plant, ACI Field Testing, Aggregate, and Lab Technician Certifications preferred or able to obtain within the first six months of hire
  • 4 year degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • Knowledge of other software programs and computer functionality a plus

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to travel throughout the S&W operating areas.
  • Perform sample testing and monitoring of our concrete production and procedures for the region
  • Observe job site testing and perform comparative testing with independent testing agencies
  • Communicate with customers, testing laboratories, and dispatch and plant supervisors regarding mix utilization and admixture dosage rates
  • Perform plant inspections of our facilities and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with project specifications, DOT, Federal specifications and Titan America’s QA guidelines
  • Perform visual inspection assessments of jobsite conditions, solutions, and recommendations to correct problems if they occur
  • Monitor test report data and plant records to help determine specification compliance in accordance with project, Federal and State specifications
  • Perform all pertinent ASTM, ACI and DOT testing procedures and evaluations
  • Supports Sales and Production departments, as well as, develops extensive working relationships with both customers and other departments in order to ensure quality-based customer complaints, queries, concerns, or issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain excellent customer communications regarding timely deliveries, compliments/ complaints, accurate orders, and job-site preparation.
  • May serve as a Safety and Logistics liaison on jobsites, back up plant operator (responsible for the safe, efficient production of ready-mix concrete) and will assist accounts receivable in collection of monies.
