About The Position

Reuther Material is an industry-leading company specializing in building materials. We are experiencing significant growth and are looking for full-time, skillful Plant Operator to join our dynamic team for our plant in our Succasunna, NJ location. In this position you will provide smooth operations of plant equipment.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
  • Excellent physical condition and coordination (including the ability to reach above your head, bend, stand, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, kneel, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as relevant to the job).
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, during periods of high demand.
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your co-workers. Participate in safety discussions and support Reuther’s vision on safety.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly documentation and reporting as needed.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather (inclement and otherwise).
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical machinery and parts, fumes and airborne particles.
  • Regularly loud noise level.
  • High school diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid I-9 credentials (i.e. valid passport, driver’s license, state-issued id, social security card, etc..).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the concrete industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and overseeing plant operations.
  • Assisting with startup, shutdown, and operations of facility equipment.
  • Identifying problems that arise and resolving them.
  • Ensuring that safety and environmental rules and programs are strictly adhered to.
  • Conceptualizing and recommending plant improvement strategies.
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits.
  • Performing preventative and maintenance measures.
  • Observing gauges, dials, switches, and alarms, and other indicators to ensure that all machines are working properly.
  • Training new hires and cross-training other staff members.
  • Maintaining a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Plan the following days production plan and order raw materials.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance on the plant, scheduled repairs, and breakdown repairs. Focus on eliminating downtime and provide innovative solutions to do so. Perform winter maintenance repairs on plant.
