About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road is currently seeking an experienced Concrete Paving Foreman or Superintendent to lead heavy civil paving projects in North Texas. This role is critical for managing daily field operations, ensuring quality and safety, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strong relationships with project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving (DOT, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projects).
  • Proven leadership in managing paving crews and subcontractors on complex roadway or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in construction management software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Job) and daily reporting tools.
  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality control.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and extended hours as required by project demands.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be available for on-call work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for concrete paving projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards.
  • Implement and enforce jobsite safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and coordinate with safety personnel and inspectors.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan site logistics, including paving sequences, equipment staging, and traffic control.
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly paving schedules, ensuring efficient use of crews, equipment, and materials.
  • Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing, and jointing to ensure compliance with specifications and high-quality standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and execution of work.
  • Provide technical guidance to resolve field issues and optimize paving methods and productivity.
  • Track labor, equipment, and material costs, and assist in schedule and budget adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable construction laws, codes, and company policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and vendors.
  • Support team development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.
