About The Position

With minimal direct supervision, this role operates a concrete mixer truck on public streets, highways, and construction sites to transport and deliver concrete material. Suitable candidates are required to have a valid CDL Class A or B North Carolina Driver's license and a good driving record.

Requirements

  • Good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Current medical examination certificate with card
  • Good work ethic, dependability, punctuality, and regular/predictable attendance
  • Dependable transportation
  • Ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly
  • Ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience driving a commercial vehicle is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Climb on, over, and around a company vehicle to perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections and secure loads.
  • Climb up and down concrete mixer trucks using a ladder, performing repetitive motions to inspect concrete mix consistencies and conduct Quality Control checks.
  • Lift truck hoods, product, equipment, and tools necessary for inspection, repair, loading, and unloading of trucks.
  • Support and assist shop personnel with any required repairs.
  • Wash trucks, clean truck cabs, and climb up and down truck washing facilities.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner at all times.
  • Keep the vehicle, cab interior and exterior clean, and mixer drums free from concrete buildup, stones, debris, and loose objects.
  • Read road signs and follow written or verbal directions.
  • Maintain contact with appropriate managers via radio or GPS to report delays, problems, or unusual situations.
  • Work long, flexible hours as demanded by customers, including nights and weekends, and work outdoors for extended periods in all seasons.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
  • Maintain and keep operator logs and other required documentation.
  • Perform all necessary work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required or directed by a supervisor or manager.
