About The Position
Concrete mixer driver safely transports and delivers ready-mix concrete from a batch plant to construction sites. Key responsibilities include operating the mixing drum, pouring concrete safely on-site, and performing vehicle inspections.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or Class B).
- Pass a DOT physical examination, drug and alcohol screenings, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs occasionally), climb ladders and truck steps, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Drive heavy commercial trucks safely to and from job sites following local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Control the revolving drum to mix and maintain the concrete at the correct consistency (slump) during transit and delivery.
- Maneuver the truck on uneven or tight job site terrain, set up extension chutes (weighing 35–50 lbs), and discharge the concrete according to customer requests.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, log hours properly, and wash down the truck after every load to prevent concrete hardening.
