About The Position

E.K. Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Concrete Laborer. E.K. Services, Inc. is a woman-owned, full-service utility, excavating and paving construction contractor offering commercial and residential services throughout central Pennsylvania and beyond. The Concrete Laborer will be responsible for forming, pouring, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete. They must be comfortable working around existing utilities including water, sewer, and storm drainage. Candidates must be able to report any defects or unsafe conditions to the foreman. The individual must be able to demonstrate the ability to be a team player and will actively work with the crew to meet company core values.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass Drug Screen & DOT physical.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, and lift 20 to 100lbs or more.
• Ability to work extended hours during construction season.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

• Experience preferred but willing to train the right individual.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute work to provide the highest efficiency possible.
• Ensure proper tools and materials are available to perform the task or project.
• Keep building and/or assigned areas of the jobsite clean and organized.
• Assist in excavation of proposed areas to be poured.
• Assist in building forms for the proposed pour.
• Grade stone for proposed pour if required.
• Pour, level, and finish freshly poured concrete as per job specifications.
• Apply stains, sealants, and waterproofing materials to finish concrete.
• Complete daily general site clean-up.
• Load and unload construction material.
• Report any defects or unsafe conditions to foreman.
• Actively work with crew to meet company core values.
