About The Position

The Concrete Admixture Products Group is seeking a Concrete Lab Technician to conduct chemical, engineering, and physical laboratory tests, primarily based on experimental designs. The role supports development of new products, improvement of existing products, evaluation of competitive materials, and analysis of test data under the direct supervision of the Concrete Laboratory Manager. The successful candidate should be computer literate, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment.

The technician prepares experimental products, tests concrete and other materials, documents results, maintains records, and helps ensure laboratory equipment and the work area are clean, safe, and ready for use. Work takes place in a laboratory setting with strict safety protocols and routine handling and movement of materials weighing 50 pounds or more.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with 1–3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret English-language documents, including safety rules, industry standards and specifications such as ACI and ASTM, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to calculate and interpret ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Basic understanding and application of algebraic and geometric concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in a team, remain self-motivated, and learn quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and hours based on workload and business needs.
• Ability to routinely lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Set up laboratory equipment and clean molds and instrumentation needed for tests, research, or process control.
• Conduct chemical, physical, and engineering tests on experimental formulas and competitive products.
• Document test and analysis results, maintain laboratory books, and complete, maintain, and process relevant paperwork and records.
• Prepare experimental products according to standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
• Test and analyze concrete, cementitious repair products, grout, MCP, cement, and other raw materials to determine their physical, chemical, and engineering properties.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
