About The Position

This position involves setting structural forming materials, including installing footing forms and building forms for structures like Catch Basins, Box Culverts, and Head Walls. The role requires performing layout, placing concrete to specified depth and consistency, and stripping forms. It also includes performing concrete placement and finishing, such as slab placement, finishing, curing, and cutting. The job involves assembling and fastening materials for framework, erecting forms, and working at heights. Basic carpentry and concrete fabrication techniques are utilized, along with knowledge of tools and equipment. Safety guidelines and attendance are critical. The role may require travel and working away from home, and the candidate must have their own transportation to various work sites within Arizona, as well as their own finishing tools, nail bags, and tools for forming and finishing. Steel-toed boots are mandatory. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check are required.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of previous heavy civil concrete carpenter experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Capability to tie rebar and set string line for concrete form setting.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration Document.
  • Attention to detail and follow directions.
  • Must have own transportation to various work sites within the state of Arizona.
  • Must have own finishing tools.
  • Steel boots are required.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • Must have own nail bags and tools for forming and finishing.

Responsibilities

  • Set structural forming materials.
  • Install footing forms.
  • Build forms for Catch Basins, Box Culverts, Head Walls, etc.
  • Perform layout.
  • Place concrete to specified depth and consistency.
  • Strip forms and patch.
  • Assemble and fasten materials to build a structure's wood or metal framework, using bolts, nails, or screws.
  • Using hand tools, a plumb rule, and a level, erect forms and framework.
  • Climb ladders, concrete formwork, and any other structures required to erect formwork and gain access to elevated areas.
  • Perform concrete placement and finishing, including concrete slab placement, finishing, curing, and cutting.
  • Handcraft, assemble, and/or disassemble parts using woodworking and metalworking machines.
  • Follow and perform functions in accordance with company and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Update and apply pertinent knowledge to complete one's own work.
  • Cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials.
  • Use basic carpentry and concrete fabrication techniques.
  • Tie rebar and set string line for concrete form setting.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all tools and equipment needed.
  • Using a power drill, bore holes in wood, masonry, or concrete walls.
  • Move and lift heavy objects.
  • Perform other duties as determined and required by project needs.
