About The Position

The Concrete Form Carpenter will be responsible for building and installing wood, metal, and manufactured concrete forming systems for various concrete structures. This role involves accurately measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing forming materials according to construction drawings and specifications. The carpenter will also be involved in rebar tying, setting forms to precise dimensions, installing various components, bracing forms, and stripping and cleaning them after concrete placement. The position requires the safe operation of tools and equipment, maintaining a safe work area, and adhering to company safety protocols.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of concrete form carpentry or commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of concrete forming methods and construction practices.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
  • Ability to read construction plans and layout information preferred.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install wood, metal, and manufactured concrete forming systems.
  • Form footings, foundations, walls, columns, grade beams, slabs, and other concrete structures.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and secure forming materials.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, dimensions, elevations, and layout information.
  • Tie rebar reinforcing.
  • Set forms accurately to line, grade, elevation, and required dimensions.
  • Install blockouts, embeds, anchor bolt templates, chamfer strips, and related components.
  • Brace and secure forms to withstand concrete placement.
  • Strip and clean forms following concrete placement.
  • Inspect forming materials and reusable systems for damage.
  • Assist with concrete placement and other concrete-related activities when needed.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, and construction equipment.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.
  • Follow company safety requirements and use required PPE.
