About The Position

Clinton Engineering (CEC), a member of the McCarthy-Bush family of companies, is a full-service general contractor and recognized leader in construction for the Clinton Community and surrounding areas since 1926. CEC specializes in design-build, new construction, rehabilitation, and renovation of commercial, industrial, and municipal projects. CEC boasts a local, experienced workforce who self-perform in a variety of trades. CEC is currently seeking a Concrete Foreman based in Clinton, Iowa. The Concrete Foreman is responsible for working closely with Superintendents and fellow team members to ensure accuracy on job sites and assist in project completion and troubleshooting. A Concrete Foreman must be well-rounded in Steel Ply Form Construction, with general knowledge of concrete work (slabs, foundations, pre-build work, etc.), and general contracting work. The Foreman is responsible for overseeing the field operations on multiple projects, including tracking production quantities, and comparing estimated costs in order to meet or exceed job specifications. In addition, the Foreman is key to ensuring safety, supervising field personnel, and communicating effectively with multiple teams. The position requires a high degree of accuracy, troubleshooting, and critical thinking. This individual will oversee a group of 4+ team members whose focus is structural steel work, but will also perform some concrete and general Construction projects.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Concrete Construction experience
  • Well-rounded in Steel Ply Form Construction
  • General knowledge of concrete work (slabs, foundations, pre-build work, etc.)
  • General knowledge of general contracting work
  • Construction, structural concrete, steel/metal building, and wood/post frame building experience
  • Demonstrated leadership & coaching experience in a previous work environment
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural plans, specifications, and drawings
  • Ability to use an iPad and computer equipment regularly
  • Team player mentality
  • Superior time management and technical capacity skills
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
