About The Position

We are currently seeking Concrete Finishers to start ASAP that are local to Calgary. This role involves smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete using various hand tools and power equipment. Responsibilities include checking formwork, grade, and steel reinforcement, installing fixtures, applying curing and waterproofing compounds, patching damaged sections, and creating specialized finishes. The position requires a strong understanding of concrete properties and the ability to read blueprints.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years, Journeyman ticket or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and working on knees for extended periods
• Strong understanding of concrete properties, curing processes, and ability to read blueprints or specifications
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
• Reliable means of transportation required
• Required tickets: CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015

Responsibilities

• Smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete using hand tools (floats, trowels) or power equipment (power trowels, vibrating screeds)
• Checking formwork, grade, and steel reinforcement, and installing fixtures such as anchor bolts or steel plates
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces, as well as waterproofing or dampproofing concrete
• Patching, resurfacing, and replacing damaged sections of concrete
• Creating specialized finishes such as broom or stamped finishes, and installing control joints to manage cracking
