About The Position

Perform finishing work on concrete surfaces to produce smooth, durable, and specification-compliant finishes. Tasks include placing, finishing, curing, and repairing concrete in a variety of construction settings.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of concrete finishing or related construction trade experience.
• Ability to perform sustained physical labour and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of concrete mixes, finishing techniques, curing methods, and surface repair practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, layout plans, and perform accurate measurements.
• Familiarity with common hand and power tools used in concrete finishing and commitment to occupational health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and level subgrade, construct and align forms, and place reinforcement as required for pours.
• Mix, pour, transport, and place concrete using wheelbarrows, pumps, or other equipment to achieve specified consistency.
• Operate hand and power finishing tools such as screeds, floats, trowels, edgers, and power trowels to achieve required surface texture and slope.
• Install control and expansion joints, perform saw cutting, apply curing compounds, and execute surface treatments.
• Inspect finished surfaces, perform patching and repairs, and ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with crew members and other trades on site.
