About The Position

RQ Construction is currently seeking experienced Concrete Finishers to support active construction operations in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. This position is responsible for performing all phases of concrete preparation, placement, and finishing on commercial construction sites. Duties include screeding, leveling, smoothing, and finishing freshly poured concrete surfaces such as floors, sidewalks, roadways, curbs, and walkways using both hand tools and powered equipment. Additional responsibilities include constructing and setting formwork for foundations, ramps, walls, curbs, and columns, repairing surface voids, and cutting expansion or control joints using concrete saws. Employees in this role may also assist with general construction activities outside of concrete work as required by project needs. All tasks must be completed using proper equipment, following established safety procedures, and supporting RQC's Mission, Vision, and Values. Davis-Bacon prevailing wages apply to work performed on military installations. Requirements

Minimum of five years of field or trade experience in concrete construction strongly preferred
English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills preferred

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial construction projects preferred
Experience working in the Design-Build construction industry is beneficial
Bilingual Spanish and English skills preferred but not required
Trenching and shoring safety training
Fall protection certification
Confined space entry training
OSHA 10-hour certification

Responsibilities

Performing all phases of concrete preparation, placement, and finishing on commercial construction sites.
Screeding, leveling, smoothing, and finishing freshly poured concrete surfaces such as floors, sidewalks, roadways, curbs, and walkways using both hand tools and powered equipment.
Constructing and setting formwork for foundations, ramps, walls, curbs, and columns.
Repairing surface voids.
Cutting expansion or control joints using concrete saws.
Assisting with general construction activities outside of concrete work as required by project needs.
Completing all tasks using proper equipment and following established safety procedures.
Supporting RQC's Mission, Vision, and Values.
