About The Position

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to join their team on construction projects. As a 100% employee-owned multi-faceted contractor, ESS specializes in delivering complex heavy civil projects through innovative infrastructure solutions, including grading, excavation, underground utilities, bridge construction, asphalt paving, concrete paving, and pavement preservation. The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing concrete surfaces using various tools and assisting with the supervision of Concrete Finisher I personnel. This role involves working closely with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure high-quality project completion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in concrete finishing, with experience in a construction setting preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement

Nice To Haves

• Vocational training in concrete finishing preferred
• Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus

Responsibilities

• Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Pour and spread concrete to the required thickness and consistency
• Smooth and level concrete surfaces using trowels and other tools
• Create concrete forms and frameworks as needed
• Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear as required
• Communicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget
• Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects
• Assist with training and supervision of Concrete Finisher III personnel
• Other duties as assigned
