About The Position

Blythe Development is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction, and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We are a 100% Employee Owned company founded in 1989. Our operations include clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. We employ over 900 people, enabling us to self-perform 80% of site groundwork. This role involves operating a curb machine safely and productively, maintaining and cleaning equipment, following safety procedures, and potentially assisting with concrete finishing.

Requirements

• Regularly works near moving machinery/tools which requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
• Must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects (over 50 lbs.).
• Must use legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb a ladder.
• Experience setting string line for concrete.
• Experience operating a curb machine.

Nice To Haves

• GPS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment, specifically a curb machine, in a safe and productive manner.
• Maintain, clean, and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Report any problems to a supervisor.
• Work as a concrete finisher as needed.
• Set string line for concrete.
