About The Position

The Quality Technician inspects heavy duty concrete products (e.g., walls, beams, columns) at various stages of production to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of all products made daily. This role involves a 5 am start time and maintaining a safe work environment by following all published/posted safety policies. The technician will perform all aspects of pre-manufacture inspection, as well as during and after production, to meet quality requirements. A key part of the role is accurately entering production and quality data into the computer system, identifying, documenting, and reporting any quality problems to Production or Quality Management. The technician should look for opportunities to improve materials, processes, and products, and ensure the cleanliness of the lab, testing areas, and equipment. This position requires leading by example in core values such as honesty, integrity, work ethic, and respect for others, treating production and yard teams as customers by performing timely inspections. The role also involves working as a team player and striving for continuous learning and development of technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Basic PC skills, such as using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and/or Production Drawings.
  • Ability to perform analytical and math functions.
  • Basic understanding of test measurements.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing concrete tests.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of the pre-manufacture inspection process, and during and after Production to meet Quality requirements.
