This is a 'casual' position, not a scheduled position. The Concierge is responsible for greeting customers and assessing their immediate needs, managing the first impression of the facility, and offering assistance in any way necessary. This includes assisting patients out of their vehicles, locating wheelchairs, providing directions, escorting to destinations, and passing customers to volunteers for escorts when possible. The Concierge will utilize Admitting or other departments to verify destinations and remain with patients if they are alone or in a wheelchair. They will also assist in maintaining a smooth traffic flow at the entrances, help with parking arrangements (valet, tour buses, short-term visitors), and assist customers with transportation needs (taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport). The Concierge must ensure the working area is clean, safe, and free from obstacles, and report any Security/Safety issues immediately. They will work with various hospital support staff and must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development over the lifespan and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
