About The Position

The UHealth Champions Concierge 1 liaises between referral sources, hospitals, and physicians to meet the healthcare needs of patients seeking medical care within the University of Miami Health System. This role manages medical services for UHealth Champion members and high-net-worth individuals, serving as their liaison between clinical departments. The Concierge 1 coordinates appointments, registers members, verifies insurance, communicates financial estimates, and guides members through their medical facility visits, ensuring expedited care by working with the Patient Access team. They also follow up on additional appointments, schedule tests, and handle referrals. The role involves managing member requests, triaging calls, responding to patient questions, and documenting interactions in systems like UCHART/EPIC or Microsoft programs. Additionally, the Concierge 1 maintains department logs, reviews inquiries from the UHealth Champions Inbox, collaborates with colleagues and departments to solve problems and improve practice flow, and communicates the department's role to relevant parties. They are also responsible for blocking provider schedules as needed for efficient workflow and adhering to University policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Responsibilities

  • Manages medical services for UHealth Champion members by gathering all pertinent data and coordinating as needed.
  • Manages medical services for high-net-worth individuals, such as celebrities, dignitaries, and government officials.
  • Serves as UHealth Champion members liaison between clinical departments by gathering pertinent information from both parties to coordinate and provide quality patient care.
  • Schedules appointments, registers UHealth Champion members, and verifies insurance coverage.
  • Communicates with UHealth Champion members regarding estimate amounts due at point of service.
  • Coordinates with UHealth Champion members time of arrival, appointment location, meeting point, and appointment instructions.
  • Greets and escorts UHealth Champion members throughout medical facility for scheduled appointments.
  • Works with Patient Access team at each clinic to check patient in and ensure expedited care.
  • Follows up with UHealth Champion members on additional appointments needed, coordinates test scheduling and referrals.
  • Answers multiple UHealth Champion member requests including incoming triage calls, responding to patient questions and then documents messages in the appropriate programs such as UCHART/EPIC or Microsoft programs.
  • Documents all patient interactions in department log to ensure continuity of care.
  • Reviews UHealth Champions Inbox for inquiries and provides assistance by working with various departments to manage accordingly.
  • Works cooperatively with colleagues and other departments including leadership to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the practice while displaying a positive attitude.
  • Responsible for regular communication of the department's role to appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Blocks provider schedules as needed to ensure efficient clinical workflow.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
