About The Position

The City of Taylor is seeking candidates for a Concession Staff position at the Taylor Sportsplex. This role is responsible for conducting basic concession operations before, during, and after events hosted at the venue. Events include hockey games, hockey showcases/tournaments, high school commencement ceremonies, and other large group events.

Requirements

• No required experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to learn to operate a cash register.
• Ability to learn to cash out a cash register.
• Willingness to clean equipment and stock inventory.
• Ability to lift, handle, and carry supplies, small-wares, equipment, garbage bags, supplies, and paper goods at a minimum of 10 pounds constantly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to occasionally stand for multiple hours at a time.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat on a frequent basis.
• Ability to communicate effectively and listen attentively to employees and customers.
• Ability to work the hours necessary to maintain the building in a cleanly manner, primarily during large events.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic concession operations before, during, and after events.
• Prepare concession stand prior to opening, including stocking refrigerators, cleaning cooking areas, and setting out condiments.
• Prepare food for sale.
• Operate cash register.
• Cash out cash register at the end of the shift.
• Clean all used food preparation equipment and stations.
• Stock inventory to ensure readiness for the next shift.
