About The Position

Scout Motors is reviving an iconic American vehicle brand, electrifying and digitizing it with modern innovation while honoring its legacy of exploration, caretaking, and hard work. We are seeking a Concept Architect to support concept architecture development for a given program. This role involves collaborating with design and engineering teams to establish innovative, visually appealing, and feasible exterior and interior concepts. You will partner with other engineering teams to develop alternate solutions to engineering and functional challenges through 3D CAD packaging proposals, always keeping customer experience top of mind. Establishing vehicle occupant packaging, including the number of occupants, body positioning, and basic roominess targets, is a key responsibility. You will also benchmark competitive executions for packaging using tools like A2MAC1 and iteratively work with design and engineering teams to evolve CAD data sets throughout the development lifecycle to improve customer experience and feasibility. Creating detailed requirement documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, specifications, and design guidelines for components, is also part of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in concept engineering, specifically with concept lead platforms/variants, component selection and modification in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA V5, TeamCenter, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, and other design visualization tools
  • Proficiency in office products such as Microsoft Office Suite and JIRA
  • Familiarity with automotive industry safety standards and regulations including GCIE, SAE, and C/FMVSS
  • Proven ability to work in a truly cross-functional and global environment

Responsibilities
