The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is looking for a COMSEC Custodian to provide ongoing support for DHS Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services & Support (HEITS) to ensure the continued operations, maintenance, and evolution of the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and the Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN). As a COMSEC Custodian on the HEITS program, your duties will include adhering to and ensuring user compliance with the customer’s COMSEC policies and procedures, configuring and installing crypto hardware, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and providing quick resolutions to minimize user downtime. You will also maintain the health and functionality of crypto devices in operation, minimizing downtime during maintenance periods, and protecting and maintaining keying and other COMSEC materials, updating keying material according to customer-designated timeframes. Additionally, you will document and track all devices and materials across multiple accounts and systems, demonstrate accountability for all devices and materials during yearly audits, and provide COMSEC Custodian training to teammates and stakeholders. Coordination with customers, teammates, and users to maintain compliance with security standards and deployment schedules, as well as collaboration with and support of the customer on technical matters related to the organization’s overall mission, are also key aspects of this role.
