About The Position

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking Associate Computer Systems Architects / Computer Systems Architects to join their Model Based Engineering Tools team within the Engineering department. This position is located on-site in Melbourne, Florida. The MBE Tools Computer Systems Architect leverages prior engineering design/analysis experience to support Model-based Analysis (MBA), Model-based Design (MBD), Model-based Manufacturing (MBM), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) initiatives related to engineering tools development. The candidate works independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of Engineering Tools and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of the assignment.

Requirements

Completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026
Majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other STEM field
Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 OR completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of relevant Engineering experience by August 2026

Nice To Haves

Active Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Experience working in an aerospace design environment. Emphasis placed in the following disciplines: Structural Design/Analysis, Subsystems Design/Analysis, Electrical/Mechanical Routing, or Mechanism Design/Analysis.
Experience working with Teamcenter and Siemens NX (or equivalent PDM/PLM and CAD/CAE applications).
Experience developing code for utilities.
Communicates effectively and clearly presents technical approaches and recommendations.
Understanding and working knowledge of SysML
Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering practices and implementation
Experience using system modeling tools (Cameo preferred) to solve systems engineering problems.
Experience defining requirements with DOORS
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
