About The Position

RZJHS, located in Deerfield, is seeking a skilled, passionate Computer Science teacher to teach one section of computer science, which meets two times per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) between roughly 1pm-2pm. The section may involve differentiated curriculum and instruction, utilizing both the AP Computer Science A curriculum and an Introduction to Java curriculum that has been in place. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly professional faculty at a school that offers a robust and rigorous dual curriculum in General and Jewish Studies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Professional teaching license in their particular subject area

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers instruction based on clear, departmentally agreed upon course learning targets.
• Assesses student understanding using a variety of formative and summative instruments aligned to course learning targets.
• Establishes and maintains clear expectations for student conduct.
• Demonstrates professional judgment, ethical conduct, and appropriate language/behavior with colleagues, students, and families. Follows policies contained in the Rochelle Zell Jewish High School Faculty Handbook.
