About The Position

This role helps expand the Computer Science Department's community engagement, build connections with young people, and promote computer science education and opportunities both within and outside the university.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree - preferred in Computer Science
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Strong social media skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to represent the Computer Science Department in a professional and enthusiastic manner

Responsibilities

• Communicate with external entities and institutions to build strategic partnerships. This can include communication through a social media presence and promoting programs, events, and involvement of students.
• Establish relationships with industry partners (for faculty and students), local schools, and community organizations.
• Represent the department at external meetings and collaborative events where industry representatives are located.
• Explore opportunities for collaboration between industry and academic work.
• Coordinate visiting speaker sessions and industry guest lectures.
• Prepare reports and metrics.
• Build internal student engagement through active internal and external promotions and outreach activities.
• Support funding proposal development and budget planning for outreach activities.
